Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Rotarians provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

The first Rotary Club was formed when attorney Paul P. Harris called together a meeting of three business acquaintances in downtown Chicago, on February 23, 1905.

Rotary609 is not focused on any one community. Rather, as the number suggests, it includes all communities in Kankakee and Iroquois Counties where the zip code prefix begins with 609. This is not a lunch club but rather is positioned as a club of action, involvement, and empowerment.

Our meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at Grapes and Hops.  Come join us to learn about Rotary and what we’re doing to make a difference!

Of the things we think, say or do…

  • Is it the TRUTH?
  • Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  • Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”
